Om shanti shanti shanti
Love and light to all of you! My tiger lilies have begun to push green sprouts up out of the ground, and I have seen a robin resting in my backyard tree; spring is here. With new life, we begin to release previous truths of cold bitter days. Our once gray skies gradually deepen their blue, and we live for this new present moment. We breathe in the warmer air, and we bloom. Spring does not replace winter, which will always come again. Spring is a temporary transition and a temporary time. Spring represents life while winter symbolizes hibernation and death. Buddhist philosophy teaches that death is inevitable because we are alive. I consider death to be a going Home; a place we will be ready to head back to when we feel we are done here. I encourage you to let winter's memories slip away as you appreciate each day right now for what is has to offer. Another winter will come soon enough, but it will not be the same winter. It will offer different skies and different storms so it, too, is still a path yet to be trod. Greet the buds with their arrival. Feel the sun's new warmth on your face. Walk barefoot when the weather is ready to offer that option. Most of all, allow each day to stand alone as you find beauty and grace in between each sunrise and sun fall. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Yoga Class Schedule/Workshops *Gentle/Restorative classes every Wednesday evening from 6-7:15pm. Spring is a time of rebirth and renewal so Rose Quartz is an excellent stone on which to focus this month. Rose Quartz is the quintessential stone of love of oneself, family, friends, community, the Earth and the Universe. It helps dissolve boundaries of isolation and mistrust and moves one into the sense of union with the Universe. It is one of the most important stones to wear, use in meditation and keep in one’s environment. It keeps the energy of love and harmony in all areas of life as it stimulates and opens the heart chakra. This calming and reassuring energy helps us to focus on the renewal of self that accompanies spring. Meditating with Rose Quartz can help one to reach resonance with the energies of compassion, thus releasing emotional patterns keeping one stuck in the past and embracing the higher frequencies of light. Some of the benefits include: calming the mind, assisting one in releasing worry, fear, anxiety and past emotional trauma. All in all, it is a perfect stone to use to welcome in the long-awaited spring! Some of the benefits include: balancing blood pressure, stimulating metabolism, lowering cholesterol and having an anti-inflammatory effect on the body. It can also ease allergies and migraines. __________________________________________________________________________________________ FEATURED QUOTE: "It's not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air, that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit." Robert Louis Stevenson
