This is a head's up that something is coming....well, actually two things! The first, you may think is already here and the second, we can only surmise...
Saturday, December 21, is the winter solstice, the first day of winter. You probably already thought winter was here with all the snow we have already! The second thing coming has to do with what occurred last night on Tuesday, December 17...a full moon. The full moon represents the coming of whatever seeds you planted on the new moon. I cannot begin to guess what that might be for you but can offer you the following insights. "[The full moon will] shed light into the darkest shadows of secrets and the unknown, bringing that which is hidden to the forefront. During the Full Moon, something is revealed to us, while illuminating a very much needed truth from the intentions that were placed on the New Moon. We are emotionally vulnerable at front stage, standing in the spotlight for all to see." This full moon is about communication..throat chakra energy. Find the balance between expressing what you need to and realizing emotions are not always rational so tread a little more slowly. "Don’t let the darkness of this time of year get you down. Instead, let the darkest day of the year become one of the brightest by letting go of the past, celebrating the rebirth of this season, and opening up your heart to the abundance of light, love, and peace to come." dailydownwarddog.com Imagine you are looking up at the full moon. Pema Chodron writes, "You are the sky. Everything else – it’s just the weather." In other words, you are that amazing vastness. Everything else, is temporary. The following are some good quotes about this time of year that I used in class: “In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.” - Albert Camus “If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.” - Anne Bradstreet “Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come.” – Robert H Schuller “I will love the light for it shows me the way. Yet I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars.” – Og Mandino
